Peer Review Process

Ceddi Journal of Information System and Technology (JST) applies a double-blind peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal's aims and scope, compliance with submission requirements, ethical considerations, and overall scholarly quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements or fall outside its scope may be returned to the authors or rejected at this stage.

As part of the initial editorial screening, submitted manuscripts undergo similarity screening using Turnitin or iThenticate. Similarity reports are reviewed and evaluated by the editorial team and are not used as the sole basis for determining plagiarism or making editorial decisions.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a handling editor for further evaluation of their scholarly quality, methodological soundness, relevance, significance, and clarity. Suitable manuscripts are then evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers with relevant expertise who are not part of the journal's editorial team and have no conflicts of interest related to the manuscript.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Under the double-blind peer-review process, the identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, impartial, constructive, and scholarly evaluations of the manuscript. Manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential, and review reports are not published with the article.

Editors and reviewers must disclose any actual or potential competing interests. Editors or reviewers with a conflict that could compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, their impartiality will not participate in the evaluation or decision-making process for the manuscript concerned.

All research articles published by the journal are subject to the peer-review process described above. Research articles are not exempted from independent external peer review.

Editorial Independence

Manuscripts submitted by members of the journal's editorial team or editorial board are subject to the same editorial standards and peer-review requirements as all other submissions. Such manuscripts are handled independently by an editor who has no conflict of interest with the authors. The submitting editor or editorial board member is excluded from the selection of reviewers, access to confidential review information, and all editorial decisions concerning the manuscript.

All research articles, including manuscripts submitted by members of the editorial team or editorial board, are evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers who are not part of the journal's editorial team and have no conflicts of interest related to the manuscript.

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' reports and the editor's evaluation, the manuscript may receive one of the following editorial decisions:

  • Reject
  • Major Revision
  • Minor Revision
  • Accept

Authors receiving a revision decision are expected to address the reviewers' and editor's comments and submit a revised manuscript together with an appropriate response. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated by the editor and/or additional independent external reviewers when necessary.

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection based on the reviewers' reports, the handling editor's evaluation, the authors' responses to revisions, and compliance with the journal's editorial and ethical policies. Where the Editor-in-Chief has a conflict of interest, the final decision is delegated to an appropriate editor who has no conflict of interest with the manuscript or its authors. Acceptance is not guaranteed at any stage of the editorial process.

The journal aims to complete the initial peer-review process within approximately 30 days. Based on the journal's recent publication records, the average time from manuscript submission to online publication is approximately 23 weeks. The actual processing time may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, the extent of revisions required, authors' response time, and the editorial and production workflow.
