Author Guidelines

Authors intending to submit a manuscript to the Ceddi Journal of Management and Business Adaptation (CJMBA) are requested to read and follow these guidelines carefully. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's focus and scope, scholarly standards, research integrity requirements, or manuscript preparation guidelines may be returned to the authors before peer review.

A. General Requirements

1. Manuscripts must be written in clear and academically appropriate English.
2. The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication by another journal.
3. The manuscript must fall within the Focus and Scope of CJMBA and demonstrate a clear theoretical, empirical, methodological, and/or managerial contribution to management and business knowledge.
4. Research articles should normally contain approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables and figures but excluding references. Manuscripts outside this range may be considered when justified by the nature, methodology, or scholarly contribution of the study.
5. The manuscript must include an English abstract of approximately 150–250 words followed by 3–5 keywords.
6. Manuscripts must be prepared using the official CJMBA manuscript template.
7. Citations and references must follow the APA 7th Edition style.
8. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure consistency and accuracy in citations and references.
9. Authors should provide their ORCID iD during submission where available.
10. All manuscripts are subject to initial editorial screening, similarity checking, and peer review in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.

B. Types of Manuscripts

CJMBA publishes scholarly works that provide meaningful contributions to management and business knowledge. The journal primarily considers the following manuscript types:

1. Original Research Articles: Empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method research approaches that provide original findings and a clear contribution to management and business knowledge.
2. Conceptual Articles: Theoretically grounded manuscripts that develop or extend concepts, theoretical frameworks, models, propositions, or perspectives relevant to management and business.
3. Review Articles: Rigorous systematic, structured, integrative, or bibliometric reviews that critically synthesize existing knowledge, identify research gaps, and provide meaningful directions for future research.

Regardless of manuscript type, submissions must demonstrate scholarly rigor, relevance to the journal's scope, and a clear contribution beyond the description of a particular organization, industry, population, or geographical setting.

C. Structure of the Manuscript

Original research manuscripts should normally contain the following components. Appropriate structural adjustments may be made for conceptual and review articles when justified by the nature of the manuscript.

1. Title: The title should be concise, informative, specific, and accurately reflect the main focus of the study. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations, formulas, and excessively long titles.
2. Author Information: Provide the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, city, country, and email address. One author must be clearly identified as the corresponding author. ORCID iDs should be provided where available.
3. Abstract: The abstract should contain approximately 150–250 words and clearly summarize the research background or problem, objective, methodology, principal findings, and main contribution or implications. Citations should not be included in the abstract.
4. Keywords: Provide 3–5 specific keywords that accurately represent the manuscript and facilitate scholarly discovery and indexing. Avoid unnecessary repetition of terms already used in the title.
5. Introduction: Present the research background, problem context, relevant scholarly literature, research gap, objective or research questions, and significance of the study. The introduction should clearly establish the novelty and contribution of the research to management and business scholarship.
6. Literature Review and/or Theoretical Framework: Critically synthesize relevant theories and previous research, establish the conceptual or theoretical foundation of the study, and develop hypotheses or propositions where appropriate. The section should demonstrate critical engagement with the literature rather than merely summarize previous studies.
7. Research Method: Describe the research design and procedures with sufficient transparency. Where applicable, provide information concerning the research setting, population, sample or participants, sampling procedures, variables or constructs, research instruments, data sources, data collection procedures, analytical techniques, validity and reliability procedures, and ethical considerations.
8. Results: Present the research findings clearly, objectively, and systematically. Tables and figures may be used when they improve understanding of the findings and should not unnecessarily duplicate information presented in the text.
9. Discussion: Interpret the findings in relation to the research objectives, theoretical framework, and relevant previous studies. Authors should explain the significance of the findings, their relationship to existing knowledge, and the theoretical and/or managerial implications of the study.
10. Conclusion: Summarize the principal findings and contribution of the study without merely repeating the abstract or results. The conclusion should address the theoretical and/or practical implications of the research and, where appropriate, limitations and directions for future research.
11. Acknowledgments: Acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship. If there are no acknowledgments, authors may state: "The authors have no acknowledgments to declare."
12. Funding Statement: Identify all sources of financial support for the research and/or publication. Where no specific funding was received, authors should state: "This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors."
13. Author Contributions: Clearly describe the scholarly contribution of each author to the work. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions and must approve the final version of the manuscript.
14. Research Ethics and Informed Consent: Research involving human participants, personal or sensitive data, organizations, or other activities requiring ethical oversight must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international ethical requirements. Where required, authors must provide information concerning ethical approval and informed consent. If ethical approval or informed consent is not applicable, this should be stated where appropriate.
15. Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research. If no conflict exists, authors should state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
16. Data Availability Statement: Authors should state whether and how the data supporting the findings of the study can be accessed. Where data cannot be publicly shared because of ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, or contractual restrictions, the reason should be clearly stated.
17. Declaration of Generative AI Use: Authors must disclose substantive use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of the manuscript when such use extends beyond routine spelling, grammar, language correction, formatting, or similar editorial assistance. The declaration should identify the tool used and briefly describe how it was used. Generative AI tools cannot be credited as authors or cited as authoritative scholarly sources. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, citations, and content of their manuscript.
18. References: References must follow APA 7th Edition. Authors should prioritize relevant, credible, and current scholarly literature while appropriately citing important foundational or seminal works. Authors are strongly encouraged to use Mendeley or another reliable reference management application.

D. Tables and Figures

1. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively according to their appearance in the manuscript.
2. Each table and figure must have a clear, concise, and informative title or caption.
3. Tables and figures should be placed close to the relevant discussion in the manuscript.
4. All tables and figures must be cited and discussed in the main text.
5. Figures must be sufficiently clear and of adequate resolution for publication.
6. Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission to reproduce copyrighted tables, figures, photographs, or other third-party material.
7. The source of reproduced or adapted material must be appropriately acknowledged in accordance with applicable copyright and licensing requirements.

E. References and Citation Practice

1. All in-text citations must correspond to entries in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.
2. References should primarily consist of relevant scholarly literature from credible academic sources.
3. Authors should engage adequately with recent literature relevant to the research topic while also citing foundational or seminal works when theoretically necessary.
4. References should be selected based on their scholarly relevance and contribution to the manuscript rather than solely on publication year.
5. Excessive self-citation, irrelevant citation, citation manipulation, and unnecessary citation of CJMBA, its editors, reviewers, or publisher are not acceptable.
6. Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all references, including DOI information where available.
7. The journal recommends the use of Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or equivalent reference management software.

F. Research Integrity and Originality

1. Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work.
2. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, redundant publication, inappropriate manipulation of data or images, and other forms of research misconduct are not permitted.
3. Authors must appropriately acknowledge and cite ideas, data, text, methods, figures, and other materials derived from previous work.
4. Manuscripts may be screened using similarity-detection software before or during the editorial and peer-review process.
5. Similarity reports are interpreted editorially and are not evaluated solely on the basis of a numerical similarity percentage.
6. Substantial overlap with the authors' previously published work must be appropriately cited and disclosed.
7. Authors must not submit substantially the same manuscript simultaneously to CJMBA and another journal.

G. Authorship and Contributor Responsibilities

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the conception or design of the work; acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; drafting or substantive revision of the manuscript; and who approve the final version and accept accountability for the published work.

All authors must agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript. Guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are not permitted. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.

Requests for changes to authorship after submission must be supported by a clear explanation and agreement from all authors and are subject to editorial approval.

H. Generative AI and Automated Tools

Generative artificial intelligence and automated tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for scholarly work.

Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation when such use extends beyond routine spelling, grammar, formatting, or language-editing assistance. Authors remain fully responsible for verifying the accuracy, originality, integrity, references, and content of all submitted material.

Generative AI output must not be treated or cited as an authoritative scholarly source. Authors must ensure that the use of AI-assisted technologies does not result in fabricated references, inaccurate information, plagiarism, breaches of confidentiality, or infringement of intellectual property rights.

I. Language and Presentation

Manuscripts must be written in clear, coherent, and professional academic English. Authors are responsible for ensuring the linguistic quality and readability of their manuscripts before submission.

Manuscripts with language or presentation problems that substantially affect scholarly communication may be returned to the authors for revision before peer review.

Accepted manuscripts may undergo copyediting, formatting, and typesetting. Authors will be asked to review the final proof and are responsible for checking the accuracy of the article before publication.

J. Submission and Peer Review

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the CJMBA online submission system. Each submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment to evaluate its relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope, scholarly quality, originality, ethical compliance, adherence to these guidelines, and suitability for peer review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly quality, methodological rigor, originality, relevance, ethical compliance, clarity of presentation, and contribution to management and business knowledge. Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance for publication.

The final editorial decision is made by the responsible editor based on the reviewers' evaluations, the authors' responses to revision requests, and the journal's editorial standards.

K. Copyright and Open Access

CJMBA provides immediate open access to its published content. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers may share and adapt published material for any purpose, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

Authors retain copyright in their published articles and grant CJMBA the right of first publication in accordance with the journal's Copyright and License Policy.

L. Final Submission Checklist

Before completing a submission, authors should ensure that:

1. The manuscript falls within the Focus and Scope of CJMBA.
2. The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal.
3. The manuscript has been prepared using the official CJMBA template.
4. The title, abstract, and keywords accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
5. All author names, institutional affiliations, countries, email addresses, and corresponding author information are accurate.
6. ORCID iDs have been provided where available.
7. All tables and figures are appropriately numbered, cited, titled, and discussed in the manuscript.
8. All in-text citations correspond with entries in the reference list and vice versa.
9. References consistently follow APA 7th Edition.
10. The manuscript includes an Acknowledgments statement where applicable.
11. The manuscript includes a Funding Statement.
12. The manuscript includes an Author Contributions statement.
13. The manuscript includes a Research Ethics and Informed Consent statement where applicable.
14. The manuscript includes a Conflict of Interest statement.
15. The manuscript includes a Data Availability Statement.
16. The manuscript includes a Declaration of Generative AI Use where applicable.
17. The manuscript has been checked for academic English, clarity, accuracy, and formatting.

M. Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the CJMBA online submission system. Before submission, authors are expected to review the journal's Focus and Scope, Publication Ethics, Peer Review Process, Plagiarism Policy, AI Policy, Copyright and License Policy, and Article Processing Charges.
