Enhancing Students’ Life Skills through Cross-Cultural Education and Collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand

The Sharing non-governmental organization actively facilitates collaboration among Indonesian academics through International Community Service (PKM) initiatives as a realization of the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi. This program, which has been implemented four times, recently engaged hundreds of participants from various Indonesian universities in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur, PPI UPSI Malaysia, and higher education institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia. Guided by national education regulations, including Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, this PKM program aims to apply academic knowledge, foster entrepreneurship, and address social challenges, particularly in empowering Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). The activities employed hybrid approaches combining online and offline workshops, training, and interactive discussions focused on improving participants’ life skills in health, entrepreneurship, financial management, foreign language proficiency, and cross-cultural understanding. The program was held at Lukmanulhakeem School in Yala, Thailand, involving lecturers and students from Universitas PGRI Palembang and partner universities. The results revealed multidimensional benefits: (1) developing leadership and collaboration skills among students and lecturers; (2) strengthening institutional networks and accreditation for universities; and (3) providing tangible contributions to society and government through the empowerment of migrant workers. Moving forward, this initiative is expected to continue each semester in various countries with enhanced content, strategic partnerships, and innovative methods to broaden its social and educational impact.

Empowering Digital Philanthropy through the Development of a Social Media Application for Cross-Country Donations at PT. Lasari Kopi

The rapid advancement of digital technology has changed how people interact and collaborate, positioning social media as a strategic medium for social engagement and humanitarian action. This community service project was conducted at PT. Lasari Kopi Makassar, aims to develop a social-media-based application for cross-country social donations that integrates technology, transparency, and social participation. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the project began with a needs analysis involving interviews and surveys of employees, community partners, and digital volunteers. The data were used to design the application’s main features, including segmented registration, campaign creation, and integration with secure cross-border payment systems. The application was built using the Flutter multiplatform framework to ensure responsive performance across devices. Testing was carried out directly at PT. Lasari Kopi’s Digital Innovation Division served as the pilot site for training and user trials. The results show that the application effectively facilitated donation activities, simplified user access through a login-optional interface, and encouraged social participation through interactive campaign and collaboration features. Participants reported positive experiences regarding usability, security, and transaction flexibility. This program demonstrates the synergy between academia and industry in applying digital innovation to social empowerment. The collaboration with PT. Lasari Kopi illustrates how technology can support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and strengthen the culture of giving. The developed application has strong potential to become a scalable solution for promoting digital philanthropy and global social solidarity in the modern era.

Development of a Web-Based Electronic Data Capture Monitoring System Using the PIECES and Waterfall Models

The development of digital transactions has driven the need for more accurate and easily monitored Electronic Data Capture (EDC) devices to support payment processes in the retail and distribution sectors. However, the manual and unintegrated EDC monitoring mechanism leads to data inconsistencies, delays in operational information, and low device traceability throughout its lifecycle. This research develops a real-time, web-based EDC population monitoring system to improve device management efficiency and operational data quality. The needs analysis was conducted using the PIECES framework, while the development process adopted the Waterfall model, encompassing analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The resulting system supports device registration, distribution monitoring, activation tracking, mutation recording, and device closure. Test results show significant improvements in data accuracy, reporting speed, and monitoring process effectiveness compared to manual methods. These findings contribute to the literature on enterprise digital asset management and demonstrate that a structured development approach can optimize the EDC device monitoring process in large-scale retail networks.

Digital Assistance for Land Deed Officials (PPAT) for Effective Electronic Mortgage Reporting

Digital transformation in land administration requires Land Deed Officials (PPAT) to be prepared to utilize technology optimally, particularly in the use of the Electronic Mortgage Rights (HT-el) system. However, reporting practices in the field still experience various obstacles, such as delays in receiving document correction information, high levels of input errors, and the lack of real-time monitoring of reporting status. This impacts the slow service process and low work efficiency. This community service activity was carried out to increase the capacity of partners in utilizing the PPAT Partner System as a more effective and responsive HT-el reporting tool. The implementation of the activity included preparation, socialization, technical training, field implementation assistance, and a comprehensive evaluation. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in partner capabilities, as reflected in the reduction in reporting time from 18 hours to 7 hours (61% efficiency), a decrease in the input error rate from 32% to 9% (72% error reduction), and an increase in partner satisfaction from 3.2 to 4.7 on a Likert scale. This activity has a real impact in the form of increasing the digital competence of PPAT, accelerating the service flow, and improving the quality of administration in the HT-el reporting process.

Implementing a Web-Based Alumni Information System to Strengthen Data Governance in Secondary Education

The growing demand for transparent, accurate, and participatory data governance in secondary education has exposed limitations in conventional alumni data management practices in many senior high schools, particularly those that rely on manual records or fragmented digital files. This article reports on the design and implementation of a web-based alumni data management information system developed as a community service-based applied study to support institutional efficiency and alumni engagement. The system development process was informed by a needs assessment involving school administrators and alumni, with data collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires. System functionality was evaluated using Black Box Testing to verify compliance with predefined operational requirements. The implementation involved a single senior high school as the institutional partner, with administrative users and alumni as the primary system users. Functional testing results confirmed that all core modules, authentication, alumni data management, information dissemination, and data reporting, operated as intended without critical errors. The system enabled real-time data updating and reduced administrative dependency on physical presence, indicating improved operational efficiency and data accessibility. From a broader perspective, this study contributed a replicable community-oriented model for implementing alumni information systems in secondary education, demonstrating how web-based platforms can strengthen institutional alumni interactions and support digital transformation agendas across diverse educational contexts.
