Guideline for Preparing Manuscript

Authors are requested to carefully follow the submission guidelines below:

A. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Abdimas Cendekiawan Indonesia must meet the following requirements:

  1. Manuscripts must be written in English.
  2. Manuscripts typically range between 3,000–5,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures). Submissions outside this range may be considered based on the scope, depth, and contribution of the study.
  3. The article must include an English abstract (150–200 words) followed by 3–5 keywords.
  4. Citations and references must follow APA 7th Edition style.
  5. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley).
  6. Manuscripts must be prepared using the official journal template.
B. Structure of The Manuscript

The manuscript must consist of the following components:

  1. Title: Concise and informative; avoid abbreviations and formulas.
  2. Authors: Full names (without abbreviation), affiliations, and one corresponding email address.
  3. Abstract: 150–200 words; no citations; include background, objective, method, key results, and measurable impact or practical implications.
  4. Keywords: 3–5 keywords in English; avoid overly general or repetitive terms.
  5. Introduction: Presents the background, problem context, relevant state of the art, and the contribution of the community service or applied intervention.
  6. Method: Describes the community engagement or empowerment approach, partner characteristics, implementation stages, tools or materials used, and impact evaluation procedures.
  7. Results and Discussion: Presents the implementation outcomes, analysis of results, challenges encountered, and interpretation in relation to relevant theories or best practices. Tables and figures should be placed near the relevant discussion.
  8. Conclusions: Summarizes the main outcomes, impacts, and practical implications of the community service activities.
  9. Acknowledgment (if any).
  10. Funding Statement (if any).
  11. Contribution (if any).
  12. References: References should primarily consist of recent and relevant scholarly sources that support the theoretical foundation and analysis of the study.

Manuscripts should undergo English language proofreading prior to submission. Accepted manuscripts will be copyedited and typeset by the publisher. Galley proofs will be sent to authors for final approval before publication.

Estimated Timeline

The average time from submission to online publication is approximately 6–12 weeks, depending on the peer review process, required revisions, and editorial workflow.

The process generally consists of:

  1. Initial editorial assessment: approximately 3–7 days
  2. Double-blind peer review process: approximately 4–8 weeks
  3. Final decision, copyediting, and publication after proof approval: approximately 1–2 weeks

The timeline may vary depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
