Plagiarism and Similarity Screening Policy

Ceddi Journal of Education (CJE) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism and other forms of publication misconduct.

All submitted manuscripts undergo similarity screening using Turnitin as part of the journal's initial editorial screening process and before proceeding to peer review. Similarity reports are reviewed and evaluated by the editorial team.

Similarity scores are not used as the sole basis for determining plagiarism or making editorial decisions. The editorial team evaluates the nature, extent, and context of identified similarities. This assessment considers properly cited quotations, references, commonly used terminology, and other legitimate similarities.

Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, data, or other work without appropriate acknowledgement. Unattributed copying and paraphrasing that conceals the source are unacceptable. Citation alone does not justify reproducing another source's wording without appropriate quotation or other clear identification.

Manuscripts with limited citation or paraphrasing deficiencies may be returned to the authors for correction. Suspected substantial plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, or other serious publication misconduct will be assessed under the journal's Publication Ethics policy and may result in rejection. Text recycling is evaluated according to its extent, location, attribution, and whether it misrepresents the originality of the work.

If plagiarism or related publication misconduct is suspected after publication, the journal will assess the available evidence and seek explanations or supporting information from the authors and other relevant parties where appropriate. A suspicion is not automatically treated as established misconduct.

The journal will take appropriate action under its Publication Ethics and Retraction and Withdrawal Policy, with reference to applicable Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance. Depending on the findings, actions may include a correction, an expression of concern while serious concerns remain unresolved, or retraction where warranted.
